Soon

The sirens sound

The flames, they roar

Scattered debris all around

The tires, they screamed (or was that you?)

Shattered glass surrounds

I hold you in my arms once more

As if to relive the night before

A time less grim

Your hair is wet

Bathed in red

A searing gash upon your head

Your lips so blue

Taste quite stale

I wish for you to enhale

Your eyes so dim

No longer bright

No reflection of moonlight

Limp, lifeless, lost

I pull your body close to mine

Wishing that we had more time

Colder than the coldest night

The chill runs deep

I too begin to feel a sleep

I feel not a spark

No warmth can I recall

And then I start to fall

I touch your cheek

Run fingers through your hair

Trying to avoid your vacant stare

Your head, I lift

Positioned in it’s rightful place

Tears stream down my eroded face

The ends drawls near

My lips, upon yours they press

My love for you, I confess

Your hand, I hold

As We lay a strewn

In your ear, I whisper

See you soon
